Crayfish weekend in picturesque Tofvehult
Friday to Sunday (from 17/8 to 16/10)
Eating Crayfish is a long-standing tradition in Sweden. Towards the end of the summer as the mating season begins, you go out to the lakes as darkness falls and set out the cages. Then you lie in wait for the little black delicacies.
Now, in the beautiful surroundings of Tofvehult, you can learn the combined arts of catching, cooking and finally eating the crayfish - while enjoying a friendly Småland welcome in our charming cottages.
Arrive in Tofvehult at lunchtime on the Friday, check in and check out the surroundings. In the evening you'll be given a short introduction in English about how to catch crayfish. As dusk falls, you'll go out fishing with a guide.
The following morning, you'll have the chance to cook the crayfish - using a special Tofvehult recipe - out in the garden and under the supervision of our experts.
On Saturday evening, when the crayfish have cooled down, you'll tuck into the tasty dish with suitable Swedish accompaniments which we will help you put together. Tofvehult can also offer you an opportunity to try classic Swedish snaps and beers with your crayfish.
Cottage, boat, bait, cages, guidance, cooking, sheets, towels and cleaning are all included in the price. Food and drink are not included.
